Camp Overview
An Outdoor Experience Like No Other
This isn’t your average day camp. Kids will step into an exciting 3-day, 2-night experience where they’ll learn how to move as a team, build a shelter, make fire, navigate the land, face physical challenges, and reconnect with nature. The kids will be pushed out of their comfort zone and encouraged to face their fears, feelings, and learn what they are truly capable of.
Led by a team of passionate instructors — including veterans, athletes, and survival trainers, this program is designed to challenge, empower, and inspire.
CAMP DETAILS
Dates and location: Tuesday August 12th – Thursday August 14th, 2025
- Drop-off: Tuesday at 5:30 PM (at OWA parking lot)
- Pick-up: Thursday at 5:30 PM (at OWA parking lot)
- Location: Okanagan Warriors Adventure – Penticton, BC
For who:
- Boys and Girls: From 10 to 15 years old
- Group size: Up to 10 kids max (3 instructors)
Commodities and what to bring:
- Food: First dinner provided by parents. All other meals + water provided.
- Sleeping: Outdoor group camping – tents, tarps, and stars

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS
Run by MLK Abilities at Okanagan Warriors Adventure
Your child will be guided by a team of experienced instructors with backgrounds in survival, military, fitness, and youth education.
Lead instructor Jeff Malek is a former French SAS trainee (French Army), national-level athlete, and the founder of MLK Abilities and OWA, Canada’s largest obstacle course. Jeff works alongside passionate instructors like Will, a former Australian military member who is now a dedicated fitness coach. Rounding out the team is Shane, an adventure guide with a strong background in climbing and rafting instruction. Having learned through real-world experiences, Shane now dedicates himself to passing on his knowledge to the next generation.
All instructors are passionate, and committed to helping youth grow stronger, physically, mentally, and socially. All instructors are certified first aid and criminal record check are updated.

- From 10 to 15 years old
- Athletes and non-athletes alike, no specific fitness level required as we adapt to all groups. they only need to be physically and medically capable (please inform us of any important medical conditions your child may have).

- OWA is Based in Penticton, British-Columbia, Canada.

- Driving Directions: (Drive can take 17 to 25min long depending how fast you travel, plan your trip)
From Penticton:
1. Take Highway 3A towards Twin Lakes / Keremeos / Vancouver
2. Exit at the Indian band / Marron Valley Road on your right and continue on Marron Valley Road following OWA yellow Signs
3. Turn right when parking is indicated and follow signs for OWA. Please ignore PRIVATE PROPERTY and NO TRESPASSING SIGNS, you will see small yellow OWA signs under it to confirm you’re on the right path.
4. Follow OWA signs only (yellow signs with logo)
5. Once parked in main Parking, follow the trail and do not go off trail.
- Parking Area: Free parking is available on-site. Follow signs to the designated parking area.
After you booked you will receive a confirmation e-mail with your booking information, waiver to sign electronically, itinerary and more. (Double check your spam box if nothing in your main box)
In case of cancellation or rescheduling you will receive an e-mail as well.
- NATURE CONSERVATION: Respect the natural environment, DO NOT disturb plants, trees, or other natural features. Stay on designated trails to minimize impact on the ecosystem. Off-trail exploration IS NOT allowed.
- RESPECT WILDLIFE: Respect the wildlife in the area. DO NOT approach, touch, or feed animals. If you encounter a rattlesnake, remain calm, back away slowly, and notify park staff IMMEDIATELY.
- NOISE LEVELS: Keep noise levels to a minimum to avoid disturbing wildlife and other visitors. Enjoy the calmness of this sacred place.
- CHILDREN’S SUPERVISION: Children under age of 8 must be supervised by an adult at ALL TIMES.
- KEEP PETS ON LEASH: If bringing pets, keep them on a leash at ALL TIMES and clean up after them. Dogs are allowed off a leash ONLY when practicing the dog obstacle course.
- NO SMOKING, DRUGS, OR ALCOHOL: Smoking, drug use, and alcohol consumption are STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
- NO LITTERING: Littering IS NOT permitted. Visitors must dispose of trash in designated bins. Leave this place like you found it. CLEAN.
- OBEY PARK STAFF: Follow the instructions and guidance of park staff at all times.
- PROPER ATTIRE: Wear appropriate attire for the obstacle course. Closed-toe shoes are recommended.
- EQUIPMENT SAFETY: Use equipment and obstacles properly and safely. Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to park staff IMMEDIATELY.
- TIME FRAME: Respect the time frame you paid for. If you want to stay for another session, please notify park staff and ask for avaibility.
- RESPECT OTHER PARTICIPANTS: Be mindful of other participants and allow them space and to complete obstacles safely. The faster participants have priority; the slower must YIELD before the next obstacle.
- INJURY AWARENESS: Be aware of the risk of injury when participating in the obstacle course. Report any injuries to park staff IMMEDIATELY and seek medical attention if needed.
